The Land Preservation Society is a non-profit, independent conservation group chartered in 1970 by the State of Massachusetts. We are dedicated to keeping a variety of types of land wild for the conservation of plant and animal species. Our first purchase was funded by a loan from the Nature Conservancy in 1971, and was one of many that help protect wetlands and Norton's water supply. We now currently hold over 1000 acres of land across Norton, with many miles of trails to explore.
The purpose of the Land Preservation Society of Norton is to protect natural resources, to preserve natural areas and historic sites, and to provide open space for the benefit of the general public; to educate the public about the wise use of natural resources; and to work with other organizations having similar purposes.
